The SWUFUS have started their Wilderness stay in Iceland

Wilderness Dance has “officially” started with the arrival of the Latvian group Swufu ´s in Iceland. You see them here on arrival at Keflavik airport Iceland last Friday – ready to take on the wilderness of south-east Iceland during their three week stay at Höfn í Hornafirði. Swufus travelled by car to Höfn over the weekend,  and on the way explored the realms of Vatnajökull national park, the largest in Europe. Their residency in Höfn is in co-operation with The Cultural centre of Höfn.  Their artistic research during the time will center around ideas of human identity. A blog will soon launch here on the website so you will be able to follow Swufus who is the first of 10 dance companies to participate in Wilderness Dance.

Wilderness hosts meet in Göteborg

Representatitves of the 10 Wilderness residency places, meet November 27-29 in Goteborg, Sweden. The idea is to establish some common grounds for the, by nature, very different stays and for the hosts to get acquainted with each other in order to be able to support each other, exchange and network during the period of the residencies as well as on a long-term basis as relevant. Kultur i Vast is hosting the meeting.
